The goal of this internship is to characterise and quantify how olfactory training can influence sensory and memory performance in perfume students over the years (ISIPCA Perfume School in Versailles). This longitudinal experiment gathers data from evocation, description, discrimination and memory tasks at three points in time: t0, t1 (+6months of training) and t2 (+1 year of training).
This first series of analyses will consist of creating expertise variables (memory scores,
richness of the descriptors, consistency of the categories, etc.) to
- Establish the influence of expertise on sensory and memory performance
- Demonstrate the selectivity of these expertise effects on memory by comparing visual and
visual and olfactory tasks
- Better define the profiles of Isipca students throughout their years of study using data driven clustering methods
Data analyses, statistics and classification analyses will be in Python
