We have access to the EDEN cohort, which includes data on health, cognitive abilities, behaviour measures on 2000 children since birth until 11-12 years of age. The goal of the project is to assess whether the trajectory of body mass from birth to late childhood reflects a metabolic trade-off between brain maturation and energy storage through fat accumulation. Using language acquisition as an indicator of cognitive development, the goal of this project is to explore whether the metabolic trade-off between body and brain has long-term consequences for cognitive development.
